Why are they reporting this like it is new news?

I suspect it is to refute a very long, very detailed and very mendacious NYSlimes article published last week that claimed that al-Qaida involvement in Benghazi was a Republican invention, and that the Muhmammed YouTube video was the cause of the attack.
