Instead of b*tching, RESIST.

Resistance may actually be the cheapest way out too.

My company insurance is still good for another year. A co-worker had to have some lab work done last week and the lab actually gave her the option to pay cash for the work rather than use her insurance. The insurance co-pay was $50.00 and the cash option cost her $37.50. Until they declare this illegal, it may be something everyone needs to ask their providers about.

We had something similar with lab work recently.
The bill to the insurance co was $250. The self pay price was $25.

This is why I am now insurance free. Most stuff is not that expensive when you pay out of pocket. And life is risk. :-)
