A University of Virginia student has notified the state that she plans to file a civil action over her arrest by Alcohol Beverage Control agents.
Don LeMond with the Virginia Department of Treasury said that the notice begins a dialogue between Elizabeth Daly's lawyers and the Virginia Attorney General's Office.
On April 11, 2013, ABC agents confronted the 20-year-old Daly after mistaking sparkling water that she had bought for beer.

If true justice were done, however, every one of those agents involved in the arrest of this woman would be fired for massive stupidity.
I hope the city has to sell every vehicle and building they own to come up with the money they owe her.

Reminds of those guys up in NOVA who killed my eye doctor,(I think he was a UVA grad as well) He came out of his house when they busted him for gambling...and some trigger happy cop shot and killed an unarmed man. Same thing could have happened here.
Once government agents are the only ones who can possess guns we will no longer be able to use the excuse that the sight of a man out of uniform pulling a gun caused panic. We will know to submit to authority when we commit a hate-crime such as purchasing a bottle of water that could be mistaken for beer.
Well they are trying their best to convince much of our youth that guns are bad and that the idiot holding it has nothing to do with the shootings the MSM has obvioudly been told to oversensationalize (I also suspect they have a special unit setup to stage or cause shootings). If they strip our guns expect all the other rights to disappear followed by a hard tyrrany and a life full of inginitely more hardships as we are forced to pay even more of our wages to the federal government.

...FWIW, had an ABC store manager in Virginia Beach tell me once.."WE are the ONLY entity in state government that actually MAKES money for the state".......of course I am talking about the ABC stores and their employees, not the retard delta force wannabe lowlifes in this case...

She has no claim. The government and its agents have immunity from such lawsuits.
Yes, I’ve heard that lame statement before. It’s not hard to make a profit when you are a government-enforced monopoly, your product is booze, and you get to set the prices. And I think the VA Lottery would dispute their claim.
