KI is only effective if it’s on-hand and taken when you know you need it, BEFORE your glands are saturated (just stating the obvious for the record). Worse, it only protects if you remove yourself from the contamination.

On KI shelf-life. Also stating the obvious, those packs stuffed in bug-out bags/purses? Chop the effective life by 2/3 (heat/cold). Medications of all types in bugout bags & purses should be insulated from temperature extremes.
Obviously the DHHS purchase could be to restock expired supplies; I just find the purchase in conjunction with the prior RFP including ‘bulk drums’ intriguing...
