Utah took its fight against gay marriage to the U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday, asking the high court to suspend same-sex unions that became legal when a judge struck down the states voter-approved ban.
The heavily Mormon state wants the marriages to stop while it appeals a judges decision, which said banning gay couples from marrying violates their right to equal treatment under the law.
In papers filed Tuesday, the state asked Justice Sonia Sotomayor to overturn a decision that has led to more than 900 gay marriages in Utah. Sotomayor handles emergency requests from Utah and other Rocky Mountain states.

ill marry all my children so they don’t pay estate taxes
I can’t understand how this story doesn’t get as much or more outrage/coverage than the cable reality show star getting suspended over saying he thinks homosexual acts are sinful and gross. Seems like the ratio between them is way out of whack, or at least it seems that way to me. I mean a federal judge just said a constitutional state marriage amendment is unconstitutional.
So as of right now, there are 30 amendments left, I think. Hawaii might still have it on the books but it was a weird one letting the legislature pass a ‘gay marriage’ law if it wanted to, to my understanding. They did. 18 states have ‘gay marriage,’ I think, which includes Hawaii. That leaves what, WV and PA as the only states that don’t have an amendment but don’t have ‘gay marriage?’ Does anyone know if that is correct or what? If the ruling is upheld by the SC does that mean everyone gets ‘gay marriage’ or what happens?

She was married for a while.
More judicial tyranny. Small government is what our Founders designed. What we’ve got is already soft-tyranny.
Guess she realized she was in the wrong pew and in the wrong church!!!
