My daughter is a high school senior, and needless to say, we’ve been inundated during the past year with college brochures. Most of them feature pictures of happy-looking students at work or play, and yes: on average, they tend to be dominated by images of black women, white women, and Hispanic-looking males.

I see the same nonsense for Catholic high schools and colleges in my area; while my sons are raised in the faith, I will not instill in them any sense of “financial ownership” in terms of the Church. Let them get their money from the people in their brochures (and good luck with that).
