During an appearance on CNBCs Squawk Box, Dean argued that the key premise of needing younger Americans signing up to make the program viable doesnt really matter that much.
This is about the individual mandate, he said. The individual mandate was not necessary and its probably a big political thing, and that is going to hurt the Democrats because people dont like to be told what to do by the government no matter what party theyre in.
The remarks by Dean are significant because of his position as former DNC chairman, as well as his being a doctor. Dean is also a former Democratic presidential candidate and current governor of Vermont.
His comments come as polling continues to show that Obamacare has the potential to be devastating to Democrats during the 2014 midterm elections.

Dean: Administration won't be blamed if people can't see their doctor
Dean the Scream?
” - - - that is going to hurt the Democrats because people dont like to be told what to do by the government no matter what party theyre in. - - - “
A sinking ship produces many free-style swimmers - - - - .
He must be racist and a “teabagger”
Dean could care less about the dangers of Obamacare.
However, he has seen the danger it can cause to his fellow marxists if they continue to defend it.
Republicans offered this option to resolve the budget impasse. Unfortunately, the president’s my way or the highway attitude exacerbated the shutdown.
“...because people dont like to be told what to do by the government no matter what party theyre in.”
Man. Those are pretty strong words, coming from a Democrat. I thought their main goal was to run a government that tells people what to do. I’m sure Obama’s people will give him a phone call to get him back in the pack and behaving himself.
He knows the individual mandate is too weak to serve its purpose and yet it’s unpopular too,
People love *free* stuff but hate paying for it, or paying for others free stuff.
Doctor Stupid is worried about being forced to eat some of the crap he has helped to bestow on everyone else ... bon appetite.
Dean on Sunday: "Don't worry, people won't blame our side when they find out the President lied about being able to keep your doctor."
Dean on Monday: "Repeal the whole thing."
It's "Repeal the whole thing" because without the mandate, ObamaCare is nothing.
You're absolutely right about the blowback factor.
Maybe he heard from his wife, who's still a practicing physician.
Maybe he heard from his accountant.
Go away Dean. The TEA Party doesn’t need you. Stop applying.
Boiled crow. All around.
He is a doctor, after all, and he’s talking about another presidential bid. He doesn’t want or need this albatross.
The “progs” need to get back to reality. ObamaCare is a massive failure. The sooner they realize that, the quicker we can start working on get healthcare back to normal again before people start dying because of their failed Socialist experiment.
He should primary Christie in NJ. Open that PO Box now.
without the mandate the whole thing is $trillions of dollars of uselessness
Obamacare - mandate = Medicaid Expansion
And then he said: “Raaaaaaaaaaauuuuuugh!”
