I draw from this story more conclusions about race than about adoption.

Sometimes this happens when you try to recreate the blind side.

When a child is raised in the worst neighborhoods in a life of poverty and deprivation we must expect these things to happen.

I'm not sure that that's a reasonable attitude on your part.Trash....punks....bums.....scumbags...come in all colors, genders, ethnicities, etc in this country.I'm white...of Irish ancestry...and have run across at least a couple of individuals similar to me who are absolutely worthless trash.Or,for a better example, look at the Kennedys. Is there *any* act of filthy barbarity that they, collectively, haven't committed?

Then you're a fool. And a bigot. Have you forgotten that each and every one of us is made in the Image and Likeness of God? This monster was likely suffering from reactive attachment disorder (RAD). THe first few months of a baby's life are so important. And this kid probably lived in Hell for the first three years of his. Kids like this need a special kind of parent. He may have had them, I am not judging these parents.

Now he belongs to the system - the only way he can be saved at this point is by Christ Jesus.

I don't think it has anything to do with race or adoption. It may have more to do with a very crowded household and busy parents.

Does a teen go from normal to an insane murderer in seconds or were there things leading up to this that were not noticed or ignored?

I wouldn’t draw any kind of conclusions without knowing a lot more. If, as another poster says, they had had the child since he was three, the family has raised him from a pup. This is not a case of fostering a troubled teenager, which is a much higher risk. The story says he had a very difficult relationship with his sister, who was also adopted at a young age ... so these two kids, who had grown up together, were at war with each other. Who knows what was going on?
