Dunno. But it strikes me as bizarre as well. I mean, being a Christian means believing the Bible. That is pretty much the one and only requirement, isn’t it? The Commandments are in the Bible, the do’s and the don’ts are in the Bible. It’s the Book of Books — if you’re a Christian, that is.
A person can claim to be religious, and not believe the Bible is the word of God, but Christians can’t. That being the case, Corinthians is very clear on homosexuality. It’s as clear as any writing can be.
It says no.
That being the case, I can’t understand why and how any Christian or any church can say with a straight face, that gay marriage is acceptable in God’s eyes, and that homosexuality is not contrary to God’s given word. It just does not make any sense to me at all.
So here’s where we get to the nub of things. To be Christian is to be tolerant. That much is well understood by everyone. Turn the other cheek and all that stuff. Live and let live. Do your own thing. All that is fine, it seems to me, right up to the point where they start demanding that Christians change what they believe, ignore clearly written scripture, and act counter to God’s commands as given in the Bible.
No. Not only no, HELL NO! Not a chance. Not going to happen.
And this is why I think they have overplayed their hands. People are now awakening to the pernicious reality of “progressive” penetration and are becoming alarmed. They are no longer willing to accommodate the perverts.
Remember the firestorm when Sarah Palin said that people should be “tolerant” of Gays?
Tolerant, the new “T” word. Now you have to Accept and Support their Lifestyle or you are a Bigoted Homophobe Hater.
