As FedEx and UPS have shown us, sometimes your presents are a few days late.

The packages are late because of broken promises of the shippers. Not the delivery people.

Shop early, your package gets to you on time.

> The man delivering to Morgan is not bowling according to the rules.

No, he is.

It’s within rules to bowl at the body as long as it’s not a beamer. A beamer is a ball which doesn’t hit the ground before coming at the body. I haven’t seen the whole video but the first few balls all bounced off the ground and hence within the rules.

Also the bowler is Brett Lee who is no longer an active player - he retired a few years back.

If it had hit him in the head at 80 mph it would have made the world a better place.

You reap what you sow.

Somehow, some way he gets repaid for the vomit he spews from him mouth so frequently.

At least his time was occupied so that he couldn't give the order to “Burn the Church”

That’s really not an apt description-a googly is a much slower ball, bowled by a leg spin bowler.

Morgan's attempt at bravery, he kept repeating "Bring it on" as he's getting smashed by the ball. The crowd goes wild every time he gets hit.

Great movie! (Monty Python and the Holy Grail)

Here’s a YouTube clip of that scene with the knight.

Thanks for the rebuttal to my remarks and in a most considerate way of disagreement. I concede some of what is said and is well taken by me.

Perhaps I am in error, but at about 1:31 seconds the beamer seems to be delivered. I must say and I might mention that when much, much younger, it was the day of Don Bradman and Dennis Compton. Time has changed many things. Before I make the main point, I have to note my pleasure at the performance the redoubtable Sri Lankan batsman against Lee- "well played sir".

I noted in the video provided and insert titled " Brett Lee smashes Alex Tudor's skull". A terrible moment. I hope not to be taken as preaching here. Fundamentally the bowler attacks the wicket, not the man. The batter is defenceless usually. I did read of a batter managing to "line drive" and nail an errant bowler. Almost impossible I think.

Lastly propagandists like Morgan (O'Meara) are best beaten in the battle for the mind. (Excuse the sermon)- cordially PL.

If you have ever learned cricket from a basic level, you will know one of the first instructions to any batsman is this: Whether you are trying to attack, defend or altogether leave a delivery.....you need to KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE BALL.

Taking your eyes off the ball makes an innocuous delivery lethal if not fatal. If you have watched all of the deliveries that were bowled to Morgan, you would have seen him do three very stupid things-1. He took his eyes off the trajectory of the ball before it left the bowler’s hand 2. He kept crouching in his stance, effectively reducing his height and increasing the chances of an injury (since he is not looking at the ball) and 3. He kept wandering around the crease like a drunkard.

All these three can get you hurt irrespective of a bowler’s intentions. What you saw at 1.31 was a combination of all 3 with the crouching part effectively increasing the height of the ball. The Tudor video you talked about features the same problem.

The short ball is both a wicket taking delivery and also a very effective scoring shot if you get your basics right.

I was pleased to read your carefully thought out post. A real treat to get someone who really knows their subject. I smile as I remember the very first words back in wartime England, this when cricket was taught at school.

KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE BALL.

Yes, Morgan (O'Meara) completely out of his depth. I will close with the idea that it is the wicket that is the target- not the man. (Chuckle).

Of course, the wicket is the target, but sometimes batsmen dance around and try to become the wicket and end up being a wicket!!
