Same as always . . . we’ll inform you (again) that we don’t have free trade with China.

Distillers grains have already been used to make ethanol. The used grains are dried and used as cattle feed and for other things.

Bush, I think the elder one, banned imports from China North Industries who made some pretty neat guns, mostly copies of classic U.S. guns, mostly from the late 1800s to the early 1900s.
Just a coincidence that they made guns. I absolutely despise the Bush’s. Not as much as I do Obama tho.

Of course, Rude ain’t gonna explain how Communist China’s action itself is a tariff...a trade barrier.

Funny, how protectionists have never seen the Tariff Schedule of the United States, but the free-traders have.

China has suspended the importation of geoduck and oysters because their labs have found (2) organisms containing inorganic arsenic and PCB’s. Ironic, US inspectors cannot find it in any samples they have pulled over the past several weeks. China also will not allow beef from the US to be imported because (2) cases of BSE in over a million tested cattle have found to be positive. So, lets get this straight, we can't reproduce their test results but yet they can ship antibiotic contaminated shrimp, fish, dog food, and many other foodstuffs in great quantities yet when a minute problem is found in ours its cause for total blockage of US products. Rich.

The federal government raises revenue principally from income and social insurance taxes. State government revenue breaks down about equally between income taxes, ad-valorem taxes, and fees and business revenue. Local government revenue is about half ad-valorem taxes and half fees and business revenue. At the beginning of the 20th century governments at all levels in the United States raised almost all their revenue from ad-valorem taxes: tariffs, sales taxes, and property taxes.
Chart 3.24: Federal Revenue in 20th Century
Starting in World War I, after the passage of the federal income tax, federal revenue became increasingly dependent upon income taxes. After the passage of the Social Security Act in 1935, the income tax was augmented by social insurance taxes.

If you look at the TOTAL revenues raised by import tariffs, it is insignificant and unworthy of discussion. We have a completely open trade policy.
