The Republican establishment and outside groups like Karl Rove's American Crossroads and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce are trying to blunt the influence of conservatives inside and outside of Congress to make it easier to pass amnesty.
According to a report in the Wall Street Journal, these groups are "preparing an aggressive effort to groom and support more centrist Republican candidates for Congress in 2014's midterm elections."
The Chamber of Commerce plans to spend at least $50 million to wage war against conservative and Tea Party candidates during the 2014 midterm elections while Rove's American Crossroads is reloading as well. They hope that "a less restive Republican caucus" will pave the way for initiatives like immigration reform. The Chamber of Commerce has indicated it may also pressure incumbent Republicans in moderate districts who are not on board with amnesty to get their support.
The Journal reports that during the most recent budget battle, House Speaker John Boehner's allies engaged in hardball tactics that may have been a trial run for the immigration battle. They worked behind the scenes to "end internal dissent," strong-arming "GOP committee chairmen who had voted against the House leadership in prior fiscal battles" by making it clear that opposing Boehner on the budget deal may jeopardize their committee posts. Boehner trashed conservatives and conservative groups after the budget deal, and conservative talk radio host Mark Levin said Boehner was strategically doing that to lay the groundwork for the looming amnesty battle. One of the main reasons that the Republican establishment wanted a budget deal was the clear the legislative calendar in the early part of next year for amnesty.

Wouldn’t it be nice if they geared up to fight democrats instead?
These GOP-E hacks have yet to explain how their plan to wage war against the Republican base will actually translate into actual voters for their RINO candidates.
It’s WE THE PEOPLE versus the elite on both sides and the GOP big money donors want amnesty for illegals even if it means a permanent Democrat voter base. Besides, the GOP establishment does not want conservative votes. Romney made that clear and lost last time.
I might add that I heard a question put to Romney about what he regretted most about the election he ran. He answered that he regretted not reaching out to Hispanics more!
That would be pointless. They’re on the same side.
It all comes down to this:
What do you support - amnesty or your job?
I’m finding this attack to be a great talking point while promoting the tea party to the left.
The very people the left has accused us of being in the pocket of are attacking us. It gives me a chance to explain that we don’t want crony capitalism or corporate welfare, we want a level playing field for all Americans.
Why would they want to fight Democrats? They ARE Democrats.
You are correct sir. I have said it before. I do not know who I despise more, the rats or the RINOs.
Toss a coin.
The Progressives in the party are committing political suicide.
The Republicans should have Democrats by the balls and here they are turning the Democrats balls loose and bending over for them to nail them from behind.
Immigration amnesty only adds more Democrat votes against them. Are these leaders stupid or deliberately helping Democrats destroy America.
Once again determined to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
Don’t do business with any business who is a member of the Chamber...whether local and regional. Many of the local ones are tied to the US Chamber...and many Chambers not tied are pushing Illegal Alien Amnesty
Let those business know...Chamber membership is supporting Amnesty
Also...do not vote for candidates who get money from CoC, Karl Rove’s Crossroads’...Business Roundtable..and other Pro Amnesty groups
You are right. This is the elite against WE THE PEOPLE.
Karl Rove and the US Chamber of Commerce are both anti America and should be treated like any other enemy. Why worry about Islamo-Fascism when we have these fascists running free here at home?
Amen... you **** us in January we will definitely **** up your world in November... you hear me gop/e? That is a solemn oath!

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is ready to take on the tea party in 2014 Senate primaries and elections with a deep-pocketed boost of establishment and business Republican candidates.
“Our No. 1 focus is to make sure, when it comes to the Senate, that we have no loser candidates,” Chamber strategist Scott Reed told The Wall Street Journal. “That will be our mantra: No fools on our ticket.”
