On Christmas Day, more than three dozen Christians in Iraq were reportedly killed. The vicious murders aimed specifically at embattled Iraqi Christians, though, are nothing new.

Life is strange.
Some people can only be governed by dictators.
Neo-cons exhausted their political capital, the war-mongers exhausted their war, and the defense industry sucked the treasury dry through their own warfare welfare. Now the Republicans are fighting for their identity, while demonrats have their own turn in this rape.
Regarding middle eastern Christians — first, they would have been exterminated regardless of Bush or Obama. Lastly, when somebody messes up the hornets’ nest, there will be a lot of casualties. The key is either not to disturb the nest, or wipe out entirely. But “wining hearts and minds” meant fat federal contracts...
Many Republicans and so-called “conservatives” — including a lot of folks right here on FreeRepublic — may someday bring themselves to finally admit that the United States has been on the wrong side in the Middle East at least as far back as the first Gulf War in 1990.
And men are evil and folly-ridden. This is Bush’s fault, and that of the neocons (including many at FR) cheering him on. I always expected this to end in bloodshed and disaster. Bush, Cheney, and the FR neocons have Christian blood on their hands.
Saddam Hussein did protect the Christians and he had them in government positions, too. He knew that the Christians were more trustworthy and that they wouldn’t rise up and try to kill him. Businesses also had Christians in charge of things because they were trustworthy.
Saddam protected the Christians from the Sunni and Shia Muslims. They knew to not mess with them.
The Christians knew they were in trouble, when Saddam Hussein was no longer in charge.
The USA actually did nothing to help the Christians.
Middle East sucks!
