What is the point of trying to reason with a person, Jesse Jackson, who can’t be reasoned with? There is a very large percentage of non-white people who think every white person grew up in the lap of luxury in a mansion with maids, servants (probably black) and given everything. No amount of facts will change their minds...because they want to believe those things. Do people really think you could get Jesse Jackson to stop his race-baiting? That’s how he became rich...richer than 95% of all white people. I guess Jesse has black privilege.
I know one racist who is white. The rest are all black.

Phil Robertson is not trying to say discrimination was not present in Louisiana when he was growing up. He is simply saying he did not witness it in the context of his youth, picking cotton with the blacks and interacting with them. Nothing more and nothing less.
Phil was also making a comment about the decline of religion today. Back then, people who were with God were happy, even when the situation around them wasn't the best.
None of Robertson's interview had anything to do with race. I hope the Robertsons or no conservatives respond to Jackson. He is an anachronism.

Rainbow PUSH Coalition members picketed outside the Cracker Barrel Old Country Store and Restaurant in Matteson on Friday, days after the restaurant chain announced it would be selling Duck Dynasty merchandise in its stores once again.
Known for its country-fried dishes and down-home aesthetics, the national restaurant chain pulled the gear from its shelves earlier this month after Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson disparaged gays in the January edition of GQ magazine. The 67-year-old Robertson also said that while growing up in Louisiana before the Civil Rights movement, he never saw mistreatment of blacks.
I think that what Phil meant was that, regardless of official rules of discrimination, being part of intact families and being employed and productive, made black people happier than they currently are in the gang-infested “inner cities”.
