Was Kim Jong Un wasted when he started that bloody purge of executions?

The seemingly sudden execution of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un’s own uncle and administrative lieutenant earlier this month sparked quite a bit of speculation among foreign-policy analysts about what might really going on behind the mysteriously opaque curtain of that starving gulag state. Was there some sort of coup or power struggle between Kim and the elder politician? Was the younger Dear Leader taking an opportunity to demonstrate dominance in the midst a precariously unstable regime? Was it the result of some sort of weird love triangle or bad family blood? Was it about money?

Or was it more of an impulse than a thought-out tactical maneuver, executed in a hurry because Kim was just… schnockered? Via Fox News:

North Korea’s Kim Jong Un was reportedly “very drunk” when he ordered the recent execution of two aides close to his uncle Jang Song-thaek.

The pair, according to a report in The Independent citing Japanese newspaper Yomiuri Shimbun, questioned an order from the North Korean leader to transfer control of a business to the military. Kim was reportedly angered when they said they needed to check with “Director Jang” first before finalizing the switch. …

The two executions led South Korean government officials to believe Jang’s eventual death was “inevitable,” the newspaper reports.

I would say someone there needs to take out Caligula Jong Un. But we have our own usurper to deal with.

This execution may lead to Kim Jong Un’s downfall.
The other leaders in the government are either going to have to take out Kim Jong Un, or live in fear that they could be next, any day now.

Sort of like Obamacare administered by the IRS with input from the NSA.

I’m sure that was the idea. Kill someone prominent as an example for the others.

Just the latest in a long line of Caligulas. Until the people who live there decide it’s unacceptable, there will be more in this unhappy continuum. There’s never been anything we can do about it.

The other commie leaders hook their own gravy train to the Kim idols of worship among the masses. I doubt they want to lose their perks so they put up with the fat boy blunder-—at least in public.

Continues to amaze me how many people help throw people under the bus without realizing they’re near the top of that to-do list.

Methinks it might be wise for Rodman to keep his fanny out of that country.

Of course it would be a smart move on Rodman's part, but when has he ever acted smartly?

What would be interesting, would be the reaction in the 'hood here, if Rodman was executed in NK.

The ‘hood residents will retaliate by executing Koreans ( mostly South Koreans as they wouldn’t know the difference ).

It’s a waste of time to look for reasons why psychopaths do things. They are insane and evil. They don’t need “reasons” for their crimes. They rape and maim and kill because it pleasures them to do so. To them every human is an enemy to be destroyed covertly or overtly. Overtly by the insane ilk of the Kims and their like. Covertly by the ilk of Obama or Bloomberg and their like.

Someone was preparing to take him out, and that is exactly what instituted the purge.

Had the uncle not been caught building his own private security army he might still be alive. The aunt one notes...sided with her nephew. The lessor of two despots.

Unless he goes outside his comfort zone and decides to play games with the south. Or Japan. Then he can be taken out by the rest of the world. But unfortunately, today OUR Caligula will probably not defend our allies.

What the world needs is a Claus von Stauffenberg with a big enough bomb.
