SEIU considers this a win. Being as they are hardcore communists, any time they can take a person off of a job, and put them on benefits, they call it a win.
The local MSM does not report the whole story. All they report is that the owner sent the employees termination notices by email. Also reports how unfair it is for the employees to get this treatment during the “holidays”. Not one word about the 4 day strike and demanding $15/hour. Fair and balanced - yeah right.
Did I miss something? No where in the article does the owner say that’s why they were fired. It’s all conjecture on the part of the author.
All jobs should pay a "living wage."
Which is why there are no entry-level jobs for Eric Holder's people.
To the morans who lost their jobs you can try to contact mac daddy while he is enjoying himself, at the tax payers expense of millions of dollars, on his vacation and see if he gives a rats as* about you and your protest.
They did, actually. I read in another article that the employees were told to be alert for the future re-opening of the restaurant. A nice way of telling them to re-apply for their old jobs, and good luck getting one!
SEIU rushes out to hire those poor down trodden people at $15 an hour in 3, 2, 1.....
OR, be willing to actually WORK; to sweat, get their hands dirty, go home with that pleasant ache that results from a day of honest labor. Day labor in my area gets $15 an hour, and they EARN it. They know that if they don't produce there are three other guys looking to take their place.
And as some grammar nazi here pointed out it's suppose to be "an hour" not "a hour"...thank you in advance. Find the author and email them.
This news is my smile for the week!
The next development in this story will be when the owners of the closed shop get sued by the SEIU and former employees.
Did you see the email story about this yesterday? Point seven: "Keep an eye out for our grand re-opening!"
In the article about this yesterday, the reason given by the owner was he's doing a total remodel, and the shop will be closed for months. I would bet that in IL, firing them for the strike is probably illegal. This story is an attempt to get the story lie that this was over the strike into the narrative, so the fired employees will be able to sue.
I was just reading the comments. When did FReepers take over the Gateway Pundit? LOL!

It's possible the owners didn't disclose the strike as the reason, but it seems odd that if the owners are remodeling and re-concepting the business, they would fire everyone, especially if they expect to reopen in a month or so. Lay off, yes. Fire, no.
It reminds me of retailers having a bad Christmas shopping season. They are blaming it on everything — bad weather, short shopping season, etc. Not one word about Obamacare taking a huge bite out of the family budget. But unless you are a complete imbecile, you know Obamacare has to be a major reason for the slump.
Now they can look for work at the car wash.
You have to know your worth.
Now they will get their pay raise. Unemployment, food stamps, free phone, etc and etc Can't beat sitting on your ass watching TV eating stake and lobster for lunch and left over money. And meet the new Democrats to keep the show rolling.
From the article: “Now theyre out of work for the holidays.”
Correction: “Now theyre out of work forever.”
Who would hire such fools?
