Beretta has eliminated Virginia from its short list of states to move its company because anti-gun Democrat Terry McAuliffe was elected governor.
The firearms manufacturer made the decision to scratch Virginia off the list after the McAuliffe campaign fixated on restricting gun owners rights after receiving over $1 million in campaign donations from billionaire New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg.
The anti-gun ads that McAuliffe ran in northern Virginia were particularly offensive, Jeff Reh, general counsel of Beretta USA, told me in an interview. And the fact that he could gain a voting advantage by doing so caused us additional concern.
The family owned, 500-year old Italian company has been scouting locations for its Accokeek factory in reaction to Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley ramming radical gun-control into law last spring.
The Virginia site of the possible plant was one of six finalists locations that Beretta executives are now considering, after visiting 80 location in seven states.

Yes, it doesn’t help to have nominal Republicans who would rather help the Rats win that see a conservative triumph. It also doesn’t help that Northern Virginia has become just an annex of the District of Columbia and is prospering ever more off of the Federal payroll and contracts.
Amen.
NC’s on the short list.
I like North Carolina :^)
The only person who is safe in a gun free area is THE MANIAC WITH A GUN!
How about Arizona? He already have a bid part of Ruger.
Thank you for your support RNC!

If the Republicans had been united...
Well, Beretta, we, Florida, have room, and the climate, for a move here. Not to mention, a business friendly tax structure. Come on down!
$1 million? Aren’t there donation limits in Virginia?
WI is open for business....
And here we go....it’s going to be a long four years.
NC went Obama in 2008. I would look for a more conservative state.
WV borders both Maryland and VA.
In most of the state, land is cheap, taxes are low as is the cost of living, and unemployment is high - with plenty of skilled workers now idled and available from the coal and supporting industries.
Interstate highways crisscross the state, the scenery is breathtaking and the people friendly. And it’s filled to the brim with hunters/customers.
You could go far and do a lot worse than WV.
There’s a special election in January to fill Herring’s State Senate seat in Loudoun County. If we win with John Whitbeck who won the GOP primary, we’ll have the majority by one seat and further hamstring McAuliffe. John is the 10th District GOP Chairman (Frank Wolf’s district) so he knows the area.
Love my 92FS
For McAuliffe? $1 million is the MINIMUM donation allowed.
Yes, it is!
Gee whiz...
