Not for a while now. The new ones look like the old ones but are electronic. They have a battery in them that is non replaceable so when they battery wears out then you have to buy a new thermostat. Plus they are not very accurate.
And I notice that there is no program for collecting CFL bulbs. And I have had a few CFL bulbs burn a hole in them during operation and leak out the contents including mercury.

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has signed a law requiring manufacturers of thermostats with mercury to collect their old temperature controls in an effort to keep mercury out of the environment.
He'll be hitting the old cemeteries next using the mercury contamination excuse as cover to rob graves.
