A hard-right conservative group led by former Kansas Rep. Jim Ryun is endorsing a Republican who is trying to oust three-term GOP Sen. Pat Roberts.

The Madison Project said Thursday that it was backing Dr. Milton Wolf over Roberts, the blunt-spoken conservative who was elected to the Senate in 1996 after eight terms in the House and has never gotten less than 60 percent of the vote in his heartland state. […]

The Madison Project faulted Roberts for backing Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, a former governor of Kansas, during her confirmation in 2009. …

If Roberts backed Sebelius for the ObamaCare job...he needs to be primaries. Roberts pretty much supports ObamaCare

We must be held accountable for our bad decisions

I don’t think that Wolf has much of a chance of upsetting Roberts, but you never know. Roberts has been in D.C. too long (1969). He needs to go, I will support Wolf.

It's pretty obvious the author is liberal when the first sentence says, "A hard-right conservative group . . "

So let me straight.

If Pat Roberts backed Sebelius for HHS Secretary...he needs to be primaried and runs out of town on a rail.

If Sam Brownback backed Sebelius for HHS Secretary...he's still an awesome conservative hero and deserved a promotion to Governor.

Interesting double standard there, especially since Brownback is noticeably to the LEFT of Roberts on various issues (especially worse on illegal immigration), but I remember Kansas conservatives gave him a complete pass during his run for Governor, and made excuses for his Sebelius vote ("he only did it to get her out of Kansas", "he HAD to vote for her because she's from his home state", blah blah blah)

It was absolutely wrong for Roberts and Brownback to vote for that rhymes with punt.

But I would hardly consider home state Senators voting for a cabinet nominee that was certain to be confirmed with or without their votes as a disquafiyer. And I certainly wouldn’t equate it with “pretty much” supporting Obamacare.
