Bevin wants new blood in Washington

Sen. Mitch McConnell’s (R-Ky.) primary opponent suggested that he would use the debt-ceiling fight this spring as leverage to defund ObamaCare.

In an interview with The Hill, Republican Matt Bevin (Ky.) reiterated his disappointment with congressional GOP leaders, especially their condemnation of outside conservative groups, and said he was “strongly, strongly in favor of doing anything possible” to repeal the healthcare law.

That should include refusing to raise the debt ceiling, he said. “I do not think we should increase the debt ceiling without significant concessions, and if one of them is the repeal of ObamaCare, then terrific,” Bevin said.

Congress raised the debt ceiling as part of the deal to end the government shutdown in October. The increase runs until February, though it is expected that the Treasury Department could use extraordinary measures so Congress would not need to raise it again until March.

Bevin rejected the premise that demanding concessions for raising the debt ceiling could lead to a default on the debt.

“There is no threat of default. We have more than 10 times the amount of money needed to service our loans,” he said.

Asked what other concessions he wants to see during the debt-limit fight, Bevin said “real, targeted, specific, significant” spending cuts, adding that there are no “sacred cows” in the budget.

But he did say that Social Security and Medicare should be off-limits, because “we should honor our promises” to retirees.

McConnell helped negotiate the deal that raised the debt ceiling and ended the government shutdown standoff. Outside conservative groups and their allies in Congress triggered the fight, which led to plummeting poll numbers for Republicans.

Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) made headlines last week by criticizing outside conservative pressure groups for their role in the shutdown fight.

Careful there Matt. Someone “may” alter your statement to read “Calls for blood in washington”. DHS will be paying a visit for that threatening statement. IRS audit team will then be dispatched.

I know this.. If I were in control, my first minute in office, I would, by executive order, put all current and FORMER politicians and their current and FORMER staff on obamacare and off their cushy policies. Let them squeal like the pigs they are. The single fastest way to cure the country of this socialist canker is make these bastards feel the pain of their crooked policies..

Don’t forget about taking their cushy retirement programs they have when they leave Congress and replace it with a 401K.

We need to get rid of the iron-poor blood in Washington.

OUT with Mitch and the tired old RINOs who think more of appeasing their Democrat adversaries than their voters (soon to be voting for someone else).

Ditch Mitch and all the other isolated, insulated Republicans that wish they were democrats and hate us “exotics” that want lower taxes, the Constitution and God to remain in America!

Yup. Sadly, these asshats have nothing to fear from you or me. They would be in a world of hurt. But being logical and having common sense(the two word version)means we’ll never get in office. LOL!

Would like to see Mitch, McPain, and Grahamnesty flipping burgers and getting yelled at by irate customers on getting the large fries and shake orders wrong...

And Washington told you this, right Bevin?
Hint: they haven’t been very truthful for some time now...

“I do not think we should increase the debt ceiling without significant concessions.....”

This is the kind of statement that makes me cringe.

Bevin has already been pummeled by McConnell’s allies for appearing to include misleading details on his résumé (His fake MIT Diploma.)

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? JUST DAMN! Here we go again....another Todd Aikin / Sharron Angle Tea Party Candidate. But, Aikin and Angle weren't liars and deceivers, they were just stupid. But, now I find out that this dude has a fake MIT Diploma and he thinks he can win a State-wide Election? SCREW HIM! I'm not even paying attention to the KY Senate Race anymore. This idiot is toast.

Boy do you quickly fall for McConnell’s tricks. Bevin said he went to an MIT Business program, and had a certificate to that effect, which he posted. It was not a diploma, and he never claimed that it was.

This MIT “thing” will sink Matt Bevin. Can we please get another candidate? PLEASE? His attempts at refuting this are not working.

So then where is he going to cut? Social Security and Medicare are the two programs that make up the bulk of our spending and which are growing at the fastest rate. I'm assuming he won't want to cut defence or veterans programs or homeland security. He could defund everything that's left and still have a large deficit. Which would require an increase of the spending limit.

The fundamental problem with his suggestion is that Obama and the Dems would relish being able to take the country over the cliff into a default that they could blame on Republicans’ “obsession” with Obamacare.

We need to get rid of Obamacare, but Obama’s NOT going to agree to rescind it, ever. Even if it means defaulting (or, equally as bad, assuming even more power unilaterally by creatively interpreting the full faith and credit clause of the 14th Amendment).

The way to get rid of it is to make sure that we have control of both the House and Senate after the 2014 elections, then start sending Obama repeal, defunding or poison pill bills to veto with his own hand (something Reid’s Dem controlled Senate has been shielding him from).

Then leverage his intransigence into getting a Conservative into the White House in 2017. When Obamacare CAN be repealed.

Why did he change the post when questioned about it? I’m telling you, it was an honest mistake at best or an attempt to deceive at worst. Either way, this will cause him to lose the Primary against old prune face. Mark my words it will be another heartbreaking loss for our team if we don’t find a more credible candidate for the May 20th Primary. And, if you don’t believe I’m calling this one correctly and want to make a wager on it, just let me know how much.
