Even more difficult to beat one as entrenched as McConnell, Graham, or McCain. One small gaffe and the RNC will funnel a flood of cash in to finish off the challenger. Then if the challenger wins, s/he gets no support in the general elecion (think Cuccinelli).

Yup! That’s the game! That’s why they’re so pissed by the existence of the Senate Conservatives Fund, to give support for these people when the RNC and NRSC refuse to fund ‘certain’ republican nominees.
