As a Christian I see this life as a sort of videogame. It “feels” real, but it is not “the” reality. Doesn’t mean it doesn’t have consequences, but since I’ve embraced the “matrix” concept since I saw the movie, this would not surprise me.

When talking to children about reality, it’s fun to point out that reality really is only perception. After all, the atoms in your hand never really touch the atoms of the keys on the keyboard. It only feels like it. If they actually touched, bad things could happen. And what you see is nothing but light bouncing off other atoms and interpreted by your brain, via what sends the signal there, as solid objects, etc.

And everything is mostly empty space, dispite it looks quite hard and if some things “hit” you hard enough, it’s game over.

I think this whole “reality isn’t what we think it is” meme is closer to the truth than we think. Truth be told, I think it is actively held together by God and when he decides to blink, it will all go away, in the way described in biblical prophesy.

That’s why I think it is so “cute” when anti-Christian “scientists” argue that religion isn’t science. No, it’s not. It is a much higher pursuit than science.

Here's something to meditate on: at the same time that Christ was dying in agony on the cross, and saying "Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do," He was willing into existence the nails that were holding Him to the wood.

You might want to investigate some of the scholastic philosophers and/or the early modern philosopher Des Cartes.

They believed that certain things could be "more real" than others and that God was the "most real" entity there was.

What exactly they meant by "more real" I don't know, but if you look into this you might find it of interest.
