That’s a pretty funny reply because, as a teen, I got E=MC2 tattooed on my right butt cheek specifically because I was such a smart-ass. I guess in some ways I still am.
To: TigersEye
That’s sad. I lost all my encryption keys in a boating accident.

IQ posts are like gun posts...its best not to let anyone know what youve got.Nicely said.
This was turning into a my-IQ-is-bigger-than-your-IQ thread.

High IQ doesnt seem to prevent leftist magic thinking, if Gates and others like him is any indication.Yeah, intelligence is a fuzzy concept.
The best definition of it that I've read is that it is the ability to see reality for what it is. It is the ability to set aside one's biases and prejudices and analyze a situation.
But it does seem to be selective. People can be very intelligent in one area and not very in another.
Thankfully, I've never suffered from that particular problem.
Heh.

This rather indefinite number that represents “IQ” is a very shaky construct. Individuals with a very high level form of autism, Asperger’s syndrome, which is closely associated with a “high” IQ, are also socially awkward and given to obsessive-compulsive behavior, making them seem a little bizarre to other people.
And hey, you think that view of the world looks a little odd from the outside, you ought to see how it looks from in here.

Actually, I was wondering what Steve Jobs’ IQ was ... does anyone know, or has it ever been reported?

“Sherwyn Sarabi has tested off the scale for intelligencescoring an IQ of 160”
The author states that his IQ is “off the scale” and then assigns it an empirical value. Obviously he is no Einstein.

Richard Feynman said his IQ was 125.
What this means is we just don't understand intelligence all that well. It's not a simple numbers game.
BTW: The Feynman Lectures on Physics are great. And on youtube you can find some great Feynman biographies and other videos.

Albert Einstein eschewed capitalism and spoke favorably of socialism, so that should show that a high IQ doesn’t automatically translate into a rational mind.
I’ll take Ayn Rand over Einstein any day.
