Taxpayers Have Spent $14K for Each Obamacare Enrollee So Far

CNSNews.com) - The fiscal conservatives at Americans for Tax Reform have crunched the Obamacare numbers released by Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, and here's the bottom line.

American taxpayers have paid $14,196 for each Obamacare enrollee so far.

In her testimony to Congress Wednesday, Sebelius said taxpayers have spent $677 million on the flawed healthcare.gov website through the end of October.*

On top of that, the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has spent $4.5 billion to promote Obamacare at the state level.

Sebelius told Congress that 364,682 people had "selected a plan" as of Nov. 30 -- although they won't get insurance until they pay the bill from the insurance company, assuming the insurance company gets their information from HHS.**

That means the taxpayer cost per "enrollee" is over $14,000.

Taxpayers, write this on the blackboard:

$4.5 billion + $677 million = $5,177,000,000 ÷ 364,682 = $14,196

People shopping for insurance on the exchanges must sign up by Dec. 23 if they want their coverage to begin on Jan. 1.

Since most of the enrollees are in the Medicaid part, the cost is MUCH higher as the taxpayers pay for the care. And the exciting part for the under 55 set is they are on the hook for the money as debt to the taxpayer if they are able to ever get out of the debt hole as the IRS will come after them.

Oregon Spends $300M on Obamacare, Signs Up 44 People

Oregon has signed up a whopping 44 people for their Obamacare program, after spending more than $300M on their state-run exchange. According to a DHS report, Oregon had the fewest health insurance sign-ups in the nation.

That breaks down to $6,818,181 spent per enrollee.

The reason Obamacare is failing is not its bungled website. It is because Americans are now seeing the fundamental trade-off behind the law — that in order to insure a relatively small number of the uninsured, many millions more Americans are likely to lose their private insurance, lose access to preferred doctors, or pay substantially more for their insurance.

Those that work for a living to feed their families and deliver a better quality to their lives are forced to pay exorbitant insurance fees so that those who lie about on their couches with chip dip in their navels to make dunking easy and don’t have a job can have free health care forever.

Makes perfectly logical sense to a a cretin president who wishes one class of Americans: poor!
