No mention in this article of the two parents, both unemployed and the father a drug addict, and their SEVEN children.
No society can clean up that mess.
“...both unemployed and the father a drug addict...”
Don’t look now, Captain, but the mother in most cases ain’t exactly a Saint living a clean life either.
“No society can clean up that mess.”
In a sane, rational society these people would not be living in the most expensive city in America with no attempt to work, contribute to society or provide for their children. They would not be spending their entire lives being parasites on society and being portrayed as victims.
Without the welfare system they would need to leave NYC and go to a lower cost area where non skilled jobs were available. The children would be in an orphan school if the parents were not able or willing to provide for them.
The article talks about the other families in the neighborhood living in the projects, supported by taxpayers. Meanwhile, if you work for a living and provide for your family the brownstones in the area sell for $1 million or more.
And the mayor is spending his time in other cities lying about gun regulation and attempting to confiscate guns from law abiding citizens in other states. Or the Bloomberg Administration is spending time and resources trying to ban soft drinks. The mayor is ignoring real problems in NYC. The city government is dysfunctional.
