Louisiana had a real bad problem with so many elected government officials during Katrina, it's hard to remember who was the most useless...

She is not related to Governor Blanco, but both are Democrats. Blanco is more conservative than Landrieu but supports Landrieu. Many Moderate Republicans also endorse Landrieu.
