I inherited a Jennings just like that. I have no trouble hitting soft ball sized targets at 20 yards with it.
That said I can only place 5 rounds in the mag for good functioning. But with 5 rounds it works well.
Not my first choice for sure but I would pick it up any day over a stick or sling shot.
