You are certainly not in the majority of tinnitus victims.
My hearing sucks, and my tinnitus increases every year. I was a heavy equipment operator, worked around F-4s, and drove all sorts of armored vehicles. Even with doubled hearing protection, that constant sound (especially subsonic) destroys hearing. I am constantly warning my children to turn down music especially when wearing headphones.
I tell my children that tinnitus is the sound of your ear dying.
I hear ya (no pun intended). I warn kids of the dangers of blasting one’s ears out. If you make your case compellingly, they’ll take note. Also, I warn this computer generation of kids “PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR POSTURE WHILE SITTING!!”. This age of 24/7 computer use is destroying lots of backs, too!
