I put on a multitude of sound. Quiet sounds like crickets. Loud crickets.

My right “ear” sounds like high-tension wires. My left “ear” like high-pressure air discharged through a long metal tube. The criminals of the black underclass have to be stepped on hard.>
I think this began when I first qualified with my M1 Garand (Expert), and that night I was so deaf that even my voice sounded as if it wae far away. Took a few day to get back something like normal hearing.

Wow that’s interesting, thanks for explaining how it works. I’ve had it for about 10 years and didn’t know exactly how it was happening and recently it’s gotten a LOT worse. For example next to a jackhammer I can still hear that damn whistle in my head that’s how bad it is. Before I could ignore it, but now it’s hard as hell especially when I’m in a quiet area. All day long EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

I've had this for about 20 years and mostly manage to ignore it until someone mentions the condition or I read an article like this one.

If you have this condition, be sure to wear ear protection at the range! Seriously, a friend starting blasting away with his .357 one day before I got the muffs on and my tinnitus was worse for about a year after.

I agree, I have had tinnitus for so long I probably would be distressed if it went away. If I think about I hear it and it is LOUD. If I don’t think about it, it’s not a problem. I have a little noise machine by my bed and at night I drown it out.

If you can get a frequency match will it cancel the noise?

(NCO School, remember it well, 56 years ago. Still practice it. See an ape-like slouch in many young men today--no stiff upper lip. No attentive obedience, either. It's a spiritual matter. Tintinnitus reminds me that I am still alive. Thanks be to God!)

Tinnitus doesn’t afflict obama’s sons cause they don’t live long enough to develop the symptoms.

(I don't know what happened to my post to you! Let me play this back again, the way it was supposed to be:)

“I describe my tinnitus to others as sounding like being in a room with thousands of cicadas chirping away. It only stops when I sleep. Fortunately, I am able to ignore it most of the time.”

Anyone else have a high pitched tone similar to the old emergency broadcast system alerts on TV? I’ve had continuously it since 1995. You wouldnt be allowed to torture the worst terrorist scum with anything similar.

I dont go anywhere near a range without wearing muffs and plugs.
