I wouldn’t be so quick to assume that the “yout” vote will go R. I fear they will just turn off to politics altogether. At least until such time as they become working heads of households with a coupla kids, i.e., grownups.

“Youts” are far more socially liberal than would align with the GOP. They perceive the GOP/conservatives as old scolds. We’re just NOT cool.

They are generally LIbertarian. That is why Republican'ts need to stop being so reflexively hostile toward Libertarians, whose small-government ideas largely overlap conservative ideas.

The days of the two-party oligarchy in this country are numbered. People hate both major parties, and it's getting worse for them daily. It will soon be necessary for alliances to be built.

I think you're absolutely correct. That is the exact track that I followed in my own maturing process. I'm now watching my thirty-something children follow the same road. They haven't truly arrived yet, but they're on the way.
