Brussels is guilty of using ‘flagrant’ power grabs to expand its control over British life, according to the Government’s top law officer.
In an outspoken attack on Europe, Attorney General Dominic Grieve said ministers are set to go to court to stop the European Commission straying ‘beyond its remit’.
He accused Eurocrats of trying to ‘subvert’ the position of nation states and said they have ‘lost touch’ with the people of Europe.
Mr. Grieve, usually a moderate voice who urges other ministers to be more positive about Brussels, said he was ‘frankly astonished’ at how EU institutions have attempted ‘to reduce the freedom of action of sovereign member states’. …

The Brits are just now figuring this out? Of course the EU wishes to and expects to swallow up control of all essential parts of government and commerce. I could see that a dozen years back, when they kept allowing big companies like Monsanto to hold monopolies and cobbled together patents.

Indeed, the EU is a paper tiger, just as most bureaucracies are. The UK is letting Brussels take jurisdiction while we saw how the EU quickly folded to accepting the illegal greek defaults and french increased debt.
Great Britain will become Pakistani before it will become European because of the influx of pakistanis who will not become British but hope to make the British Pakistani.
Because the ruling Tories are being challenged by a third party (UKIP), the Tories must make conservative noises they would otherwise not even consider uttering.
