Obama May Stay in Washington After Presidency

Barack Obama, who has spent a career inveighing against the politicians in Washington, is thinking of staying there even after his second term expires, ostensibly because he doesn’t want his 12-year-old daughter, Sasha, to leave Sidwell Friends School.

Obama has often intoned, “It is good to be out of Washington.” But when interviewed by Barbara Walters of ABC News this week, Obama and Michelle Obama averred they might stay beyond their call of duty in order to let Sasha graduate. “We gotta make sure that she’s doing well . . . until she goes off to college,” Obama said, “Sasha will have a big say in where we are.”

No president since the dying Woodrow Wilson has stayed in Washington after leaving office. Stephen Hess, a presidential scholar at the Brookings Institution, deplored the idea, saying, “Once you’re in Washington you are somehow connected to every problem that your predecessor is going to be confronting. And you will be asked to say something each time your name comes up, given that you will have reporters camping out on your doorstep … It’s just not a very congenial place to hang out” Josh Earnest, the White House principal deputy press secretary, said the issue was still undecided, saying of the Obamas, “they are still trying to figure it out. It is certainly something they have been thinking about, and that is evident in the answer they gave. I think it is school and Sasha being able to keep her social group as much as possible — that is what is most important to them.”

Gee - I didn't know there were federal detention centers actually in DC for those committing heinous crimes against the state.

Of course he will. He’s the Mother of All Freeloaders. There’s no way the boy is going to go out looking for a REAL job. As long as whitey will keep paying him big bucks just because of the color of his skin, he’ll keep flapping his lips for them and causing them to faint at the sound of his “brilliance.”

The reason is, that D.C. not being a state does not have an extradition treaty with the United States.

The big house in Leavenworth, Kansas is the appropriate home.

Good thinking.

I’m surprised. I assumed he would retire to a golf course community where he can play golf all day and write autobiographies at night.

Apparently, he’s willing to admit that, unless the daughter is in an expensive private school, as opposed to a tax-funded public school, she won’t do well. It’s always helpful to notice that liberal policies apply only to the unwashed masses and not to their families, which in and of itself is the best indicator of their belief in the policy’s efficacy.

Why worry about her doing well in school when the government is being set up to carry her for life?

There is already a move to end term limits, which would allow him to remain President/Messiah/Dictator PERMANENTLY!
HE IS NOT GOING ANYWHERE.
Not willingly.

What a hideous thought...the Obamas in perpetuity!!

However, I don't give up hope...the President is only one year (technically, not even that) into his second 4-year term, and if things continue at the same pace they are now, he well may have some assistance in determining their future residency plans...

I’ll bet that school itself will be tickled pink when the O-O-Obamas finally do leave and take their 88 security guards with them. There may be more security guards there than there are teachers. Years from now, the books will be coming out about how other Sidwell Parents were pushed to the side in order to accommodate Madame Pompador and her ‘husband’, and all the ladies in waiting too.

This would not surprise me at all, but no matter where he lives, he will NOT fade into the background as every other former president has done. We will NEVER be rid of this guy.

Journalist: “President Paul, what is the current state of the union?.....Oh, never mind here comes former president Obama, we’ll just ask him.”
