An entente cordial with Iran? LOL! The Saudis were a much better partner, because if nothing else, their objectives were clear and pragmatic: money and the continued power of the current royal family. AQ may have originated there, but was actually an attack on the Saudi house, and it was in the interest of the Saudis to repress it.

Iran is a fanatic state. The Iranian leadership nourishes some bizarre vision of being the mystical head of an all-powerful Islam, enforced through a policy of fear and a severe collectivist economy. But then, maybe that’s what Obama wants, too.

Saudi Arabia, not Iran, are the people financing the mosques arising all over America, providing forums for Salafist preachers to spread radicalism in the US. The most radical action of the Iranian regime is the way they are looting their own country. they're living too large to worry about the end of the world.

Anybody who likes the idea of a Salafist preacher in every town and multiplication of Major Hasans and Tsarnaev brothers should by all means support the Saudis, loyal allies willing to fight to the last American, against Iran.
