A good read—but not PC in our world. The Butler Movie was another piece of Propaganda as bad as Birth of a Nation. Oprah is as bad as D.W. Griffith—with her Millions of Lynchings. The truth isn’t found in the extreams but in the middle. No race or group is free of guilt. If God in his wisdom had made all the bad people one color we could get rid of them with ease—BUT he didn’t He made bad people all colors! i think he did this for a reason. As MLK said—its about the heart—not the skin color.
A free and educated society must tolerate, not ban, speech even though the speech is offensive, not conforming to general opinion, biased, bigoted as long as it is an expression of opinion and not solely a threat of harm or personal verbal attack directed at another private person in a manner analogous to spitting in one’s face. That is the meaning of our First Amendment. A movie is speech and this movie [Birth..] also has historical value.
