You mistakenly think that the GOP is different then the Democrats; given how they do not vigorously pursue any of their platform planks (abortion is likely the best example, but 2nd Amendment and fiscal responsibility deserve mention too) and put up guys who are politically the same as Democrats for high office (see McCain and Romney) and their lackluster efforts on Fast and Furious prosecution or repeal of the Affordable Care Act (the first obviously and easily provably treason and State-sponsored Terrorism, the latter obviously contraconstitutional) makes them seem more and more just the same... and if they are the same as the Democrats, then they will do what the Democrats would do, like pack the court if they could.
The GOP is smart enough to even WANT to pack the court?
Now THAT is a revelation to me. I could actually wish they would, if (and most likely when) Obamacare takes the Democrats to a well deserved political hell.
Sometimes it’s so possible to get one’s mind crammed with cynicism that for any possible political occurrence one can only see a downside. God could wave a neon sign before your face and you will miss it, in that frame of mind.
Anyhow, the perceived need for a Romney rather than, say, a Reagan, was driven by the way Democrats have enchained America. If Democrats are driven to a self-earned exile, the GOP’s nominal conservative model will win more assent and become more than nominal. It would be like Reagan without even a credible Jimmy Carter to worry about.
Again, walking humbly with your God must needs entail being willing to see how God can mop the floor with Satan if He even gets an equal footing with said demon in people’s minds again. The GOP hasn’t quite booed God.
