No not skeptical, it’s just that it’s no more typical in California than it is in any number of other (probably most) states today! Corruption and crooked lawyers are the rule, not the exception. Just look at all the ambulance chasing lawyers advertising on TV. And I don’t see any of them who have their principal offices in California. Most are from Massoftwoshits and Texas!
