All due respect to Cartman, but Trey Parker and Matt Stone have no need to demand that people "Respect their Authoritay!" Indeed, ever since these two smartmouths met in film school in Colorado, they have been making us laugh, and squirm, with their outrageous sense of humor. The mischievous duo has mocked everything in sight, with no punches pulled for taboos such as race, class or, heck, even cannibalism.
Having conquered the realm of TV, they have even staked their claim to the hallowed annals of Broadway with the uber-blockuster "The Book of Mormon." This mashup of "South Park"-style wit and Broadway splash is making a return visit to San Francisco Nov. 27-Jan. 19 as part of the SHN series.
The tale of two innocent Mormon missionaries who find that being super-duper nice isn't enough to attract new recruits in a godforsaken Ugandan village beset by drought, warlords and AIDS, this is sacrilege transformed into musical theater bliss.

I saw “The Book of Mormon” a few weeks ago in Denver. Very funny show, although certainly not appropriate for children.
Agree.
There will never be a war with Mormons, but the one with Islam is inevitable.
Interestingly, in Harry Turtledove's 11 book alternate history series, "Southern Victory", Mormons secede from the United States in 1915 and form the country of Deseret, and wind up going to war with the United States.
They lose.
Who’s stopping you from writing a show on Muhammad or the Koran?
South Park has had episodes going after most religions, and atheism as well.
Not a fan of these guys, but I have to give them credit for an ingenious scene in “Baseketball” where they have an entire conversation using only the word “Dude.”
So they have; in fact, in their most recent attempt to portray Muhammad, they were censored by Comedy Central.
They did a two parter that went after Islam and the Cartoons of Muhammad controversy, but they were heavily censored by the network and banned from broadcast in many countries. Matt and Trey had the balls to go after Islam, but the networks didn’t.
NEVER forget 9/11! Both 2001 AND 1857!
To be accurate, however, there's already been one war between the CoJCoLDS and the United States of America.
Called the Utah Mormon War, it lasted from May 1857 until July 1858. President James Buchanon sent U.S Troops to the Utah Territory and the Mormons (primarily the Nauvoo Legion) blocked their entrance into the Salt Lake Valley.
There were few casualties, other than non-Mormon civilian casualties. The Mountain Meadows Massacre occurred curing this period, in which Mormons killed over 120 gentiles in the Fancher wagon train.
I offer this solely for historical purposes.
I'm frequently pinged on LDS articles because others know I'm familiar with LDS history. I decline to post because most of those threads are on theological matters and I decline to post on those.
I respect the rights of members of the CoJCoLDS, especially my LDS Friends to their religious beliefs.
I wonder if that headline is recycled from some old newspaper form when they still taught/practiced polygamy?
form = from
Uh, I hate to burst your bubble. We're already in a war with Islam. They started it on 9/11. The problem is that America has allowed a certain demographic to castrate us. Instead of wiping them out, we're bringing them here by the millions, giving them special privileges, hoping that because of our kindness, they'll like us. Hint: they still don't like us.
Your description of that action and what I have heard differ greatly. My understanding is that the Mormons got ready to burn the city and allowed the US Army to enter the city with no one being hurt on either side.
They worked out an agreement with the US Army and after a while the army left because they considered the Mormons peaceful and there was no need to stay.
The Mountain Meadow Massacre was a horrible event. While there have been many people who accused Brigham Young of ordering this action there has never been any proof, in fact the time line of the event suggest an impossibility of that being the case. There is more to the story. Out west water is the most precious commodity there is. The wagon train that was massacred was accused of poisoning every well they used when they left. This means death to the people who use the wells. While there are those that say that this particular wagon train was not responsible for poisoning all the wells there is evidence that they were. We will likely never know.
It is hard for me to understand how any person in the name of religion can kill another, or for that matter poison their wells that they themselves were using. My mind will just not go certain places.
Despite what we may think of Mormon theology the ones I have met, and I have met many, have all been very nice charitable people. It is totally unfair to cite the Mountain Meadow Massacre without mentioning the atrocities heaped upon the Mormons as they were run out of cities they built, as they and their children were murdered. It was only a few years ago that the governor of Missouri lifted the extermination order put in place when the Mormons lived in that state and in Illinois.
When you deal with the Missouri War and the Illinois War, you'll find there is more than enough blame to go around, as well as more than enough exaggerations.
Exactly.... it’s about what they think is “funny.” And not to offend anyone... but from an outsiders perspective, Mormons, Jehovah’s witness’ etc can seem pretty funny. Islam on the other hand... not really funny. Disturbing, yes... but not funny.
I do find it interesting how the series “Hell on Wheels” portrays the early mormons, not sure if it’s accurate, but they’re certainly not naieve pansies, or terribly funny.
