You make an excellent point. I think that these types would have managed to adapt well enough to modern society were it not for welfare that shut down any incentive to move on with the times. That and the minimum wage that eliminated jobs that weren’t worth that much. Well they used to be worth something for kids who wanted a few spare bucks for smokes, or lunch at the automat.

Yes, think of this, we had the “war on poverty” and yet now, decades later we need to import huge amounts of illegal aliens to do the “jobs americans won’t do”, but it is NOT the case the every american is gainfully employed, many are on welfare, or engaged in illegal activity for “earnings”.

That reminds me of a kind of a funny story about my nutty Irish grandmother. My brother went to the University of Chicago and strove mightily to support himself there (worked 3 jobs at one point) and graduate which he did. (With a degree in philosophy of all things, but this was back in the day and he would never have made it in any math intensive field).
Anyway, he comes back from the frozen midwest after 4 years and grandma congratulates him and says: this is so great for you, now you can get a job as a doorman.
He almost dropped dead!
My scanty knowledge of the NYC doorman gig is that it is far more lucrative than any job my brother ever had; being Irish helps; and a philosophy degree from a high-end U. is not required.

That’s also female writing on the receipt, so that rules out the male of the party that allegedly didn’t tip and it’s usually the man that pays, especially when out with his wife.
So it hasn’t crossed your mind that the owner was lying his a** off, for one reason or another. Perhaps he doesn’t want to get sued or perhaps he is himself, gay. This is phony from beginning to end.

For some groups the persecution is so central to their identities that they fear they lose strength without it. BJ Clinton’s false recollections of church burnings in Arkansas secured his place as “America’s first black president”.
One silver lining to this country filling with foreigners is that they don’t give a hoot for such groups. They have no historical link to any persecution, and they don’t believe they should bear the costs of maintaining their special status.
