Bevin, endorsed by the Tea Party, said that his upcoming primary battle with Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is not only a microcosm for the battle of the Republican party, but the entire political process. The battle for limited government, the belief that government has a spending problem, distaste for crony capitalism, and a strong opposition to tax increases animates his campaign to be Senator.
Bevin served four years as an officer in the U.S. Army and rose to Captain of the 5th Mechanized Infantry Division Artillerys counterfire office. Although he hails from humble beginnings, growing up in a small town in New Hampshire living in a small farmhouse house with a big family, Bevin proved to be a savvy business man and, according to Bannon, accumulated as much as $25 million.
Bannon thinks that the Kentucky senate race is one that will draw the attention of the entire nation for several reasons. One crucial reason is that McConnell has made a number of accusations that Bevin had committed improprieties while running a family manufacturing company which Bevin categorically denies. Also, McConnell has stirred the ire of the conservative grassroots by calling them nothing but a bunch of bullies. Moreover, Jeffrey Katzenberg, CEO of DreamWorks, has dumped several million in to Democrat challenger Alison Lundergan Grimes' campaign, who as a result will be an immediate threat to whoever wins the republican primary.
Bevin and Bannon talked about the results of a recent straw poll that took place recently in Boone County Kentucky. Last Thursday, Bevin won a resounding victory over Mitch McConnell at a Boone County GOP straw poll of 700 Republicans garnering 80% of the votes.

Harry Reid might even give him a plum committee assignment which he could enjoy for the next 13 months or so.
Well my fingers are crossed for Bevins.
For those familiar with Kentucky, how significant is this win for Bevin? How significant is Boone County in KY?

Straw polls are echo chambers.
We got burned with polls in 2012. Memories are short.
Yes: I only hope he can hold on to that lead. Mitch McConnell right now is busy cutting his own throat by refusing to admit that the Tea Party is a growing force to be reckoned with.
Ron Paul dominates straw polls too. They tend to be meaningless much of the time.
A good article at Hot Air on the “Chicago tactics” of McConnell on other conservative candidates...just freakin’ amazing!
Go Bevin!!!
I predict McC wins the primary with 64 percent of the vote, a low point for him in status quo KY.
Specter thought the move would secure himself a place in the U.S. Senate for the next seven years. Instead, he (a)failed to get the promised post, (b)lost the primary, (c)failed to advance to the general election, and (d)died less than two years later.
He did, however, get ObaMao to order all flags on federal facilities flown at half-staff the day he was buried.
And Reid's intentions to offer him the coveted committee chairmanship really were sincere. It was just that the Democrat occupying the post (Leahy, i believe), refused to vacate it.
Don’t cross your fingers — send money.
