A Culture in Ruins
PJ Media ^ | 11-24-13 | Victor Davis Hanson

Posted on 11/25/2013 5:08:20 AM PST by afraidfortherepublic

Lady Gaga reportedly spent $25 million on pop art to jazz up her new and apparently underwhelming album. In contrast, Miley Cyrus’ sexual twerking at the MTV video awards earned her more millions by exposing her rather unimpressive anatomy. Both make the once vulgar Madonna seem like June Cleaver, but at least raise an existential question: ~snip~

Meanwhile hip-hop artist Kanye West is promoting his own new music video. He seems to be having sex with his girlfriend Kim Kardashian while riding a motorcycle. If you did not know that Kanye West was the singer of the background music, by the quality of the lyrics and beat, you might think that a fourth grader was spewing rhymed obscenities, in the fashion that Gaga and Cyrus make up with obscenity...what they lack in musical, dance, and artistic talent. ~snip~ Our culture also seems shocked that you cannot mandate more healthcare for more people at less cost. It is outraged that those who use it rarely would not voluntarily rush to pay more for what others will use a lot. ~snip~ I saw the candidate Obama say in 2008 that a president cannot pick and choose which laws to enforce. And I saw him in 2013 do just that. But then did I really see that — and if I did why would I mention that I did? What suspicious urge would drive me to note a discrepancy? What thought crime am I guilty of?

Why would a culture that canonizes a Kanye West, Miley Cyrus, or Lady Gaga have the discrimination to determine whether their chief executive tells the truth or lies? Obamacare is a great program in a way that West, Cyrus, and Gaga are great artists, in a way that more iPads will mean more geniuses.

Kanye West is in bad company.

Must be great sex he is having with Kim Kardashian while watching the porn video she made with another black man.

Lady gaga, Mylie Cyrus, Madonna ,Lyndsey Lohan, all scum, and young girls are out piercing, tattooing, screwing to emulate them.

This was predictable when a nation kicks Jesus out of its life, persecutes Christianity, and promotes the lowest excesses of evil human nature. It reminds us of the parable Jesus told about the man who cleansed his heart of one devil, put nothing in its place (exactly what humanism does) and seven devils, worse than the first, move in. (Luke 11:24-26)

...in a way that more iPads will mean more geniuses.

Style, man, STYLE! It's all about style; substance has no...well, SUBSTANCE!

"I have the Apple logo on my electronic toy, therefore I have STYLE and I MATTER." /s

The major public influences in our culture are controlled by those immersed in the subjective world. "Stroke of the pen, Law of the Land. Kinda cool!"

Our government bodies are controlled by lawyers who care little about law based on principle but seek control & coercion through codified whims.

Those in the News Media seek not to inform the public of events, people & places but rather to "make a difference", to "change the world".

VDH has just evaluated the "Artists" and found them ensconced between "wanting" and dispicable.

Liberal Arts academia is all about tenure, rebellion and being advant garde!

Thankfully, engineering is still populated by those who understand that there is objective truth in life. The bridge will (or will not) withstand 100% more traffic weighing 150% more than current loads for the next 25 years WITHOUT the routine maintenance which the subjectivist government drones decided was too expensive...taking money away from programs which were more effective at buying votes.

If the aeronautical engineers were a little more subjective and less less obstinate objectivists then when the wings started falling off the Jet Setters jets as they traversed flyover country enroute from one center of style & influence to another, perhaps the beautiful people who really matter would wake up.... naaaa probably ain't gonna happen.

[how's that for a run-on sentence!]

(thus endeth my Monday morning rant)

Which nation is that? I don't think it was the majority of the American people that agreed to the destruction of their culture. Just like the majority of the American people never agreed to letting in ten of millions of Third-worlders. Who was it that pushed for all this? Who filed the lawsuits in the courts? Who decided what gets shown in the Corporate Media?

Gaga would be better served by subcontracting the composition and instrumentalism to professionals, though she does play adequate keyboard, and personally focus on a sustainable business market.

Unfortunately she is prone to fat, which means her future product will need to be more about the product and less about her.

The more I see of her, the more convinced I am that she's a dude.

Look at that jawline, and the way she stands.

Pay attention conservative image makers. This is how it is done. The cutting of the incredulous looks of the crew members of the original USS Enterprise with the low points of Cyrus´s act pits cultural icon against cultural icons. It makes a vivid point without getting preachy and it is hilarious.
