**SNIP**

The province’s largest and last coal plant, in Nanticoke, is scheduled to shut down next month. The new bill, if passed, will make it illegal for the government to set up other coal plants in future.

The legislation is mostly symbolic: it will apply only to electricity plants, allowing other industries – such as steel and cement manufacturing – to continue burning coal. But Ms. Wynne touted it as expression of the province’s commitment to cleaner sources of energy.

While Russia and China burn coal like nobodies business!

WOW - it must make Gore feel really good to shut a small and insufficient fraction of global pollution...what about the campaign against volcano eruptions? If we could just get the Earth to stop moving and move it away from the SUN...then no more tectonic plates would move...uhm...then again, the weight of humans on the surface probably make them move and the rumbling of our vehicles and the noise of our rock-n-roll music as well....

Much of Ontario is powered by hydro.

Its good clean and consistent power which is why we’re busy tearing out dams as fast as we can drain lakes.

Al Gore is fomenting war of the third world against industrialized nations, the way Guenter Grass envisioned it. The surrender of Canada is key to his profits.

Oh, good grief, this is a proposed law by the minority, and Ontario doesn’t actually need coal power anyway, as others have posted. The Chinese will burn it instead.

Gore is really desperate for attention...
