White House spokesman Jay Carney denied Friday that next year's midterm elections are the reason behind the administration's decision to postpone the 2014 opening date for 2015 enrollment in Obamacare -- from October 15 to November 15.
Pushing back the start date, Carney said, will give insurers more time to get an idea of their new pool of customers before they set their 2015 rates.
"What was already going to be a back-loaded process is going to be more back-loaded, and that's going to leave insurers a lot of data to sort through in a short period of time," he said.

Yet another lie. The delay has nothing to do with healthcare insurers having more time to set premium costs.
Per business reporter on tonight’s Neil Cavuto (and documented elsewhere), healthcare insurers set their prices for 2015 in April of 2014.
“HHS would have to move healthcare insurers’ premium submission date back to May/June to give insurers more time to analyze the pool of people who signed up in 2014. But that’s not what they did. They moved the enrollment period.”
Regardless, premiums will go up for 2015 because of low enrollment for 2014. Employer mandate will be in affect for 2014 and up to 100 million employees are expected to lose their employer-based insurance.
Obama doesn’t want those citizens who just got their employer-based cancellation notices going to the voting booths in a bad mood.

Oct 15 is about 11 months from now.
If they will not be ready, another month wont make a difference, unless the reason is politics

The insurance companies have to set their rates by next May anyway. Such a transparent lie.
