Terry McAuliffe won't take his place as the Governor of Virginia until January, but he isn't wasting any time when it comes to getting ahead on his anti-gun agenda. During the campaign, McAuliffe advocated for a ban on semi-automatic rifles and standard capacity magazines. Now, he's hired Lori Haas, the Virginia State Director of the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence [CSGV], to help with his transition team. Haas' daughter was shot during the Virginia Tech massacre in 2007. More from the DC:
Despite claiming support for the Second Amendment, Haass appointment to this position to help assemble his Administration sends a very clear message to gun owners and sportsmen in Virginia that their rights are already under attack in Richmond.

Enjoy your NY style gun control, Virginia.
I'm shocked.
At least the GOP has a overwhelming majority of delegates in VA’s lower house. They better get used to saying NO although I am not sure how many are reliable conservatives votes vs. those who are whores to the Chamber of Commerce, etc.
Does he have a podium with an “Office of the Governor Elect” logo?
This isn’t Colorado, Republican hold a 2/3rds majority in the Virginia Statehouse....so Terry...good luck with that...
Virgina will become Maryland. No difference.
As I never plan to live in VA, I’d like to see him go all the way. Repeal 2A rights at the state level. Who cares if it’s not legal, when did that stop Obama?!
The sooner these communists begin doing exactly what they want to do, the sooner Americans can see it and decide if it’s ok.
McAulliffe is the dirtiest politician elected to high office since Reconstruction. He should be in prison serving a multi-decade sentence for corruption. It’s so maddening that VA would elect this weasel.
Like the man said, "Elections have consequences". And as long as "We The People" are content or stupid enough to continue electing radicals to public office, "We The People" are going to continue to have "it" shoved up our collective asses.
perhaps folks should get ready on the recall effort?
True for the House of Delegates. But its a 50/50 split in the state senate. If I was McA a major political goal would be to gain control of the senate.
Yeah, Terry — good luck with that f***wad.
The GOP owns a supermajority in the House of Delegates and won’t let this get anywhere.
I can’t believe that dirtbag McAuliffe was elected. Sad days for the fine commonwealth of Virginia.
Not going to happen. That'll be DOA in the first nanosecond.

I’m afraid to contemplate an answer to what Americans may decide. I wouldn’t bet on them making a good decision. It seems as though the country has gone beyond the ability to appreciate freedom.
Gun Free first then Coal Mine Free
“Im afraid to contemplate an answer to what Americans may decide. I wouldnt bet on them making a good decision. It seems as though the country has gone beyond the ability to appreciate freedom.”
I think they have. I think the average American wants a nanny state. I also think the average American has been indoctrinated to not trust their own judgement, and wish for the state to make decisions for them.
But, if that’s where this country is headed, then get on with it, so I can begin planning where I’ll move.
Let's not forget members of the Virginia Libertarian Party who were gloating on Facebook over the defeat of the GOP candidate with the help of their candidate, who was funded by an Obama bundler.
The same Libertarian Party who lies about supporting the 2nd Amendment. They deserve this crook they helped elect.

Another killing by a mentally ill person using pistols. A guy so crazy that poet Nikki Giovanni kicked him out of her class and wanted him expelled. He was saved from expulsion by the head of the English Dept who personally vouched for him.
