Bevin Calls Senate’s ‘Nuclear Option’ Egregious Overreach

Matt Bevin condemned the unprecedented power play by Harry Reid in the U.S. Senate today. When the Administration’s D.C. Circuit Court packing was challenged, Harry Reid and liberals in the Senate didn’t just bypass the rules, they eliminated them.

Further, Mitch McConnell failed as a leader in this fight to stop the blatant disregard for the rules. Perhaps it is because this DC insider has a long history of voting for the appointment of liberal judges, or because he’s been also had a history of “filibuster flip-floppery.”

Whatever the excuse, he is in good company.

Meanwhile, Democrat candidate Alison Lundergran Grimes gave us a glimpse of the non-committal senator she would be by refusing to say if she opposed or supported Harry Reid’s ‘nuclear option.’ Instead, she simply said it was “worth exploring.”

“Kentuckians deserve better than a pretend leader who does nothing more than wave his arms for the cameras or a candidate who refuses to make up her mind. The ‘nuclear option’ vote is an egregious overreach and highlights the same arrogant thinking of career politicians that also led to the government shutdown. As senator, I will fight the efforts of liberals like President Obama and Harry Reid to ensure they do not run roughshod over the rules yet again,” said Matt Bevin.

Change the rules when we take over to allow us to un-appoint judges who were appointed during this period. Who cares if it’s not legal, right barack?
