>> Finally, people need to get the notion of running to the doctor for every minor ailment out of their heads, “just because they have insurance with a low or no co-pay.” <<

.
You said a mouthful there!

The connection between employment and medical care needs to be severed. Patients should have control of the purse strings.

Cruz, as well Senators Mike Lee and Marco Rubio, have been at the forefront of the ‘Repeal Obamacare’ movement, for which they had been excoriated for doing so, by Senate moderate John McCain, and others.

Rubio??? Really??? LOL!

The Democrats should have heeded Senator Cruz's prophetic warnings on Obamacare.

Do you think McCain will man up and apologize to Senator Cruz publicly?
I think not. McCain lately has shown his true egotistical arrogance. It is about time for his comeuppance.

There is a new kid on the block....... Doc’s in a box.

The concept is to provide walk in service in a reasonable time. I think that for most less than mortal medical care they are a good solution. They are the market, not the government.

I would argue that they as nongovernmental entities they can provide better care at cheaper prices, especially if run by a major hospital.

Health departments ultimately become political and a waste ground for failed or near failed health care professionals. They get bogged down in money battles and all sorts of bureaucratic governmental woes.

The problem becomes payment. Any suggestion I would make is likely to be wrong but plastic cards can be issued to assure admittance and payment. These patients now clog emergency rooms tht don’t get paid. The REpublican Obamacare replacement will include a method to accomplish this beyond the current chaos.

Maybe they need triage areas. Sort of a pre-emergency room to evaluate if an emergency exists.
