One of the easiest things we could do to curb CO2 emissions would be to ban all non-essential, frivolous and purely discretionary travel and use of energy. Therefore, I suggest we ban all travel to all sports events, ban the use of artificial lighting at all sports events and only schedule them during daytime hours, and ban all use of gasoline in any sporting event.

Let’s see how all the big sports teams, players, TV Networks, and cable companies would like that effort to reduce so-called global warming. I think they may change their tune pretty quickly if those simple measures were put into force.

...in other words, bring us back to World War II status...gas and food rationing...coupons and vouchers and the like..I’ve thought that would be a useful tool for the purpose of letting us see how pampered and debased we are as a culture...what a shock that would be to the populace at large, I’m all for it...for a while...
