“.... the 130 passengers on-board ....”
Strange that these “130 passengers on-board” didn’t mention anything at all. No instant tweets, no text, nothing. Until the news broke now.
As if they can’t tell the difference of NYC or Bala Cynwyd. Or worse, the passengers expect the foul up as nothing unusual.

New York, Bala Cynwyd.
Aside from a few hundred skyscrapers and about 7 million people, what difference does it make?

Amtrak wants to know how one of its trains took a wrong turn and got lost in the Philadelphia suburbs.I can't help thinking that Bugs Bunny and Yosemite Sam are somehow mixed up in this.

In 1980, I took a round trip on Amtrak from Los Angeles to Ann Arbor, Mich. The train was 14 hours late getting there and 12 hours late getting back. I haven’t ridden Amtrak since.

“one of its trains took a wrong turn “
Must be one of those self-driving trains. Gotta stop them trains from missing a turn.
“accidentally “
The switching apparatus malfunctioned, and the poor train went the wrong way.
Really amazing how these trains work these days - no humans anywhere near the trains to drive them.

Actually, those are also Amtrak tracks. Probably someone threw the wrong switch at 30th Street station. Bala Cynwyd is the first stop down that line.At least they didn't end up on the S bridge to Manayunk.

Bingo. Somebody at Amtrak Dispatching in Philadelphia triggered the wrong switch at Zoo Interlock. The line ends at Bala Cynwyd because they tore up the line past there, and the old bridge over the Schuylkill carries no rail because it's falling apart. Past the old bridge, the line to Manayunk and Norristown is a bike path. This is a major embarrassment for everyone concerned.
It could have been worse. The dispatcher could have sent that train into a head-on collision. Somebody's career is going to be snapped like a matchstick.

History has taught us that the only successfully-run government railroad in history was in Italy, by Benito Mussolini.
He was a true fascist focused on something he could actually do.
Our fascist POTUS has his focus spread out over the entire national economy.
It's just too much for the man-child.

How does one pronounce Bala Cynwyd?

I believe you can find him at www.wsws.org.You have to break a few eggs to make the trains run on time.
