The condition of the Packard plant had nothing to do with the unions. There were working businesses in the building as recently as 10 years ago.
The corrupt city council in their usual greed saw an opportunity for immediate personal gain and allowed a Chinese scrapper to come in and strip the building. They didn’t even bother to inform the guys working there. I recently saw an interview with a guy who was restoring cars in part of the building. He said he was working and the lights went out and that was the end of it.
Sure, it worked so well in Soviet Russia, Cuba, Zimbabwe, and now Venezuela.

Too many inspectors for one. You have stage inspection by Boeing, the customer and the FAA. Then you have final inspections by Boeing, the customer and the FAA. Each part of the assembly process is inspected. Then there’s flight testing before being released to the customer.
