Given its a democrat politician involved, I don’t believe the initial narrativeof the son having a gun and a knife and stabbing the dad and using the gun on himself.

To preserve “political viability” the son had to have shot himself, probably after joining the NRA and reading the Ted Cruz filibuster transcript.
