A manhunt is continuing in Paris after a gunman attacked offices of the newspaper Liberation and fired outside the HQ of the Societe Generale bank.

A photographer, 27, was critically hurt at Liberation. The gunman later forced a motorist to drive him to the Champs Elysees before allowing him to go.

Police are looking for the same man who broke into the Paris offices of the 24-hour news channel BFMTV on Friday.

Crisis in Paris. This shooter is still at large, and has apparently been attacking since last Friday. The description is vague - a man maybe in his 40s, with greying hair and stubble. For some reason, although he has been heard speaking by witnesses, there is no mention of his accent. This is a vital point, often a good way of identifying someone in France.

The title threw me. At first I thought the article would be about the Paris Gun that the Germans used in WW I to bombard Paris from a range of about 80 miles. The muzzle velocity of the gun was about the same as the burnout velocity of the WW II V-2 missile.

When I read “Paris gun...” I thought “Paris Gun”... there is one of them at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, that was used in WWI to shell Paris from inside German lines. It was a curious monster. Close to it is the US nuclear cannon, a roughly similar approach but based on a very large truck configuration, built to to the unthinkable to the unspeakable during the Cold War.

A pisspoor story. No description of “Liberation” and why it might be a target. Same for the bank.

A good example of how NOT to write a story.

Yes, there are a whole lot of details missing.

Unofficial pictures are circulating, said to be the suspect on security camera. The pics make him look younger than mid-40s.
